Turning the End Page

end of year planning

Hello! This is my first post on this site. It feels weird starting something new at the end of the year, but I’m glad to finally be able to publish my first post before the year changes. Because I want to tell you a few things about what happened this year.

Entering the end of the year, usually, my feelings are mixed. I’m often getting a little sad because many of my wishes haven’t been fulfilled or there are personal projects that can’t be completed this year as I expected. But this year is a little different. I tried to look at it from another point of view. What have I done this year? And if something has not been completed, have I made some progress on it?

It turns out that the results are quite satisfactory! At least 80% of the goals I wrote at the beginning of the year were done. And the rest, although some of it’s still not finished, at least some progress has been made. That means a lot to me.

Planning the Year

If I look at the difference between last year and this year, the most significant thing is that I really did planning at the beginning of the year. About what I want to do this year, and divide it into mini-goals each month.

It sounds boring and stiff. Why can’t we just live freely? We only live once. Well, that’s true. But since I’m working as a freelancer and don’t have a fixed schedule, it makes me slacking on my personal projects. And I often don’t make the project because it’s been delayed for too long.

Since I used a planner, I can finally see the process I did this year. Not only for personal projects, but it’s also very helpful to keep track of my skills improvement. I know clearly what I’ve learned and what I haven’t. So I can continue improving the rest another time. I really recommend trying to make year planning if you haven’t tried it.

Memorable Things

Do you have some memorable things this year? Or things that you’re grateful for?

For me, the most memorable thing this year is that I got to know many friends, both fellow artists, creators, and those who have the same interest. Even though we’re communicating online, it’s nice to be able to talk and exchange stories about many things, especially art. Collaborating with various people reminds me of how much fun it is to create art. One of the reasons why I decided to keep pursuing a career in this field.

Besides that, I also started regularly making video content on my YouTube channel. And the response was very positive. Thank you very much to those of you who always support the channel. I’m glad the videos can help so many people.

And then what?

Even though it’s time for us to close the end of this year’s book page, it doesn’t mean this is the end of everything. It’s time for us to prepare to open a new page because there are still many things we can do in the next year.

For me, journaling on this site is something I want to do regularly in the next year. I want to share my experience while working in the art field while telling the process behind it. And more importantly, doing something fun with art in the next year is my ultimate goal!

I hope you are also excited to welcome the end of this year. Don’t forget to get enough rest to recharge your energy. See you next year!

Cheers!
